2026 Donruss Football Details
A year after celebrating the 10th anniversary of the brand’s return to the football card industry, 2026 Donruss Football marks the start of a new chapter for the storied brand.
Originally produced five times between 1997 and 2002, the Donruss flagship line disappeared from the football card industry until Panini revived the brand in 2015. Now, it comes out as an unlicensed product for the first time in its history after the NFL awarded Fanatics exclusive trading cards licensing rights in April 2026.
Even though team logos and nicknames will not be on the cards and boxes are more compact with six fewer packs than last year, collectors can still expect many of their Donruss favorites. Hobby boxes will continue to guarantee an autograph and a memorabilia card, and collectors can also expect 36 inserts, 12 base parallels, and 6 chromium Optic cards per box.
2026 Donruss Football Checklist Overview
The base set, however, has been trimmed in half, dropping to 200 cards for 2026.
Parallels haven’t been announced yet, but Panini typically blends together traditional color parallels with out-of-the-box concepts.
Collectors will also look for the upgraded chromium version of the base set — Optic, which will have its own set of Prizm parallels.
Collegiate stars also find their way into the product. Some of those players on NIL deals with Panini have penned autographs for sets like Signature Series.
Signature Marks and Dominators are two additional signed sets in the product, which will both give collectors the chance to find NFL legends from the past.
Elite inserts — a staple of Donruss since the early 1990s baseball sets — are back, and Campus Kings brings the Diamond Kings feel to college stars.
Tougher inserts include the popular Downtown SSPs and their signature artistic renderings.
Doubling up on the fun are Downtown Duos, which will have several dynamic and star-studded pairings.

This is excellent news for football card collectors – get all of those college players and legends on cards from a company that actually knows how to make football cards and has the financial ability to bring in a strong autograph line up and leave the ugly Topps trash to the breakerbros
Would be nicer if the price was lower or if there were more autograph cards – but then, the autograph card line up here should be much stronger than when Panini was stuck with the NFL license
