2025-26 Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey is the start of the season’s flagship line. Two more installments will eventually follow (Series 2 and Extended Series), but this is where things begin. This includes Young Guns Rookie Cards as well as some familiar inserts like UD Canvas and UD Portraits.

2025-26 Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey Checklist Overview

While some things change from year to year, Upper Deck Hockey has its traditions. This starts with the base set, which is another 250-card affair.

The final 50 of these is the cornerstone Young Guns subset highlighting a variety of rookies. That said, due to the set’s early release, collectors shouldn’t expect any 2025 draft picks or opening night debuts until future installments. The focus of the rookies here is on late call-ups from the 2024-25 season.

Young Guns land every other pack or six per hobby box.

Parallels for all 250 cards include:

  • Outburst Silver – 1:15 packs, Young Guns 1:60 packs
  • Clear Cut – 1:48 packs, Young Guns 1:144 packs (hobby only)
  • Deluxe – /250
  • UD Exclusives – /100
  • Outburst Red – /25
  • High Gloss – /10
  • Outburst Gold – 1/1

Select base cards have a couple of rare spinoffs as well. First are Variations that fall 1:2,000 packs. Base Snow Spray Autographs are 1:4,000 packs.

Inserts

The 2025-26 Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey checklist has a deep roster of inserts. Many will be familiar to those who have been collecting or even dabbling in Upper Deck Hockey over the last few years. However, some new additions have also been added.

The first 120 UD Canvas cards of the season are found in Series 1. Veterans are 1:4 packs while Young Guns are 1:24. These have two levels of parallels: Black and White (1:48 packs, Young Guns 1:144 packs) and Printing Plates.

UD Portraits (1:5 packs) take on a new artistic style. These have additional Speckle (1:40 packs), Red (/199) and Gold (/25) versions.

Colorful Dazzlers inserts return. These start with Blue, which are one per hobby box. Pink (1:144 packs), Gold (1:2,880 packs) and Green (1:4 blaster packs) are also available.

Graded cards are the inspiration for Population Count. Although not serial numbered, each card is limited to the number shown on the front. Tiers include 1,000, 500, 100, 50, 25, 10 and 1.

Holotypes throw it back with a hologram background. Falling 1:504 packs, these are extremely tough. They’re also exclusive to Series 1 and won’t appear again this season.

Bootleg (1:1,440 packs) is one of the new inserts in 2025-25 Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey. All 18 cards in this set use a different design.

Other insert themes include Compositions (1:5 packs), Sizzle Reel (1:5 packs), Tracking Systems (1:5 packs), Bustle (1:8 packs), Cup Quest (1:8 packs), Goal Oriented (1:8 packs), and Compadres (1:10 packs). These all have Speckle, Red (/199), Gold (/25) and Printing Plate (1/1) parallels as well.
