2024 Topps Pro Debut Baseball Variations Guide
The 2024 Topps Pro Debut Baseball variations offer a base twist on 10 of the base set’s top prospects. This time around, it’s not just the image that’s different.
Paul Skenes, Jackson Holliday and Ethan Salas are among those to get the SSP treatment in 2024 Topps Pro Debut Baseball. These cards are legitimately tough, landing 1:1,197 hobby and 1:121 jumbo packs.
The biggest difference is the photo. However, that might not be the first thing many collectors spot. Variations are also done one foil stock with green borders. The end result is something like the base set’s Green Foil parallels, but there are a couple of tells that make it easy not to mix them up.
For starters, variations don’t have serial numbers. Green Foil parallels do on the back just above the fine print. There’s also the card numbers. Base cards start with “PD-” whereas variations have “PDC-“, which is the same as Chrome versions. However, variations are foil and say Topps on the front instead of Topps Chrome. It may sound confusing but it’s not.
If all else fails, look at the fine print on the back. You can use the last three digits of the CMP code in the fine print to easily tell between a standard base card, Chrome version and Image Variation:
- Base – 023
- Chrome Base – 043
- Variations – 063
