2024 Fleer Retro Looney Tunes Details
2024 Fleer Retro Looney Tunes combines Bugs Bunny and friends with some of the brands and general vibe of late ’90s sports cards. This means the variety to match the Merry Melodies cast of colorful characters.
Although hobby boxes don’t promise any traditional hits like autographs or sketch cards (memorabilia would be on the tough side), both are available. Boxes do have a lot of different types of cards including a pair of numbered parallels and something considered “rare” by Upper Deck’s standards.
2024 Fleer Retro Looney Tunes Checklist Overview
The base set has 100 cards, running through the various Looney Tunes characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, Porky Pig and more. It even moves into the modern era with Lola Bunny who didn’t debut until Space Jam hit the big screen in 1996.

Every pack averages one Metal Universe insert. Not only do these have wild backdrops on their own, but it opens the checklist up to a fresh batch of Precious Metal Gems parallels. It’s the first time the popular cards have been applied to the Looney Tunes brand (although that can be applied to virtually every part of the checklist). Metal Universe is one of the places collectors can find Printing Plates as well.

Other brands with inserts include Fleer Ultra, SkyBox Premium, Z-Force and E-X. All of these get parallels befitting of their roots in sports cards. That means things like Rubies and Essential Credentials.

Not only do other inserts further highlight retro lines, but they use a variety of card styles. Thrill Seekers, based on the scarce 1996-97 Fleer Basketball inserts, are lenticular.

Quick Strike, Star Power Supreme and Suspended Animation bring card clarity thanks to their use of acetate.

Golden Touch cards are intricate thanks to both their die-cut shape and Light FX foil technology.

A couple of popular inserts rank among the rarest cards on the checklist, Jambalaya and laser-cut Platinum Portrait.

Randomly inserted autographs have signatures from voice actors.
Besides producing trading cards for both Space Jam films, Upper Deck has a history with Looney Tunes. Their most popular foray with the license was the multi-set Comic Ball run in the early 1990s.
