2024-25 Panini NBA Hoops is a sign that it’s time to move on from Victor Wembanyama rookies, at least as far as more cards go. Hoops marks the unofficial start of a new basketball season, which means a new rookie class to chase.
At the hobby level, there’s one autograph per box. As with recent years, there’s not a lot of overlap between hobby and retail as far as parallels and inserts go. This means a lot of exclusives for both.
2024-25 Panini NBA Hoops Checklist Overview
The base set keeps things simple, focusing on standard player cards. In addition to the usual stars, the checklist includes 50 rookies from the 2024 draft. These are the first traditional NBA cards for the likes of Zaccharie Risacher, Alex Sarr, Reed Sheppard and more.
Among the hobby-only parallels are Artist Proof Black, Dragon Year and Premium Prizms Gold Vinyl, which add a chrome level as well.
Autograph themes include Rookie Ink, Hot Signatures and Hot Signatures Rookies.
There’s also Hoops Art Signatures that come with on-card signatures.
As far as other inserts go, Championship Moments and Dreamcatchers are only in hobby packs.
It’s the same for Presentations, which showcase players with distinct illustrations. These also have Gold parallels numbered to 10.
