2023 Upper Deck Marvel Premier is the first time the ultra high-end trading card line has appeared since 2019. Like past Premier sets, it’s all premium content. Despite having just six cards, hobby boxes have two sketch cards, one of which is with multiple panels or oversized.
2023 Upper Deck Marvel Premier Checklist Overview
With just 50 cards, the base set isn’t a big one. It focuses on the most prominent heroes and villains from the pages of Marvel’s comics. All of the art is new, done in collaboration with artists Vinz El Tabanas and Batsky.
Standard versions come numbered to 99. Additional parallels are available in Blue (/49), Red Foil (/25), Gold Spectrum (/15), Purple Foil (/10) and Black Foil (1/1).
The sketch cards start with a more traditional approach with one featuring a specific Marvel character.
The second is either oversized at 5″ by 7″ or one spanning two, three or four card panels.
The 2023 Marvel Premier checklist is fairly simple beyond this with just two additional insert sets.
Art Stages Shadowbox cards use layers and acetate to replicate the various steps that go into creating comics, from sketches to inking to full color.
Breakout has characters breaking through walls. Adding to the challenge on these are short print and SSP cards that are in smaller supply.
