Like its counterpart in baseball, 2023 Topps Throwback Thursday Star Wars takes old card designs and makes them new. This time, though, they’re inspired by a galaxy far, far away.

Available weekly through the Topps website, collectors will find a variety of familiar — and, sometimes, less familiar — designs that have been refitted to the Star Wars Universe. But it’s not necessarily sets that are already connected to the franchise. Anything from Topps is in play, including sports.

Every Thursday, a new group of three cards are posted and available four seven days. It’s the same design for four weeks, making up a mini set of 12 cards using the same design. At this point, a new set is unveiled with a different design. This way, collectors can collect specific cards, go for four weeks with a design that speaks to them or continue on through the whole series with an annual master set.

A couple of chase elements are randomly inserted.

For starters, there are three levels of parallels: Bronze (/10), Silver (/5) and Gold (1/1). Every week, one card gets the variation treatment. Switching the photos up, these are 1:20 sets.

2023 Topps Throwback Thursday Star Wars is a print-to-order release. This will mean print run fluctuations from week to week.
