2022 Topps Pro Debut Baseball Goes Major on the Minors
2022 Topps Pro Debut Baseball heads back to the minors, offering a flagship-style look at MiLB standouts and up-and-coming prospects. Like the last couple of years, there are two distinct configurations. Traditional hobby boxes have four autographs. Hobby jumbo boxes have just three, however the packs are bigger and they include exclusive Topps Chrome cards.
2022 Topps Pro Debut Baseball Checklist Overview
The base set has 200 cards. Players are all pictured in their minor league uniforms. This includes some 2021 draft picks getting their first Pro Debut cards.
Parallels are available in eight levels:
- Fuchsia – /199
- Blue – /150
- Green – /99
- Aqua – /75
- Gold – /50
- Orange – /25
- Red – /10
- Black – 1/1
The entire set also gets a Topps Chrome makeover with six landing in each jumbo pack. These have additional parallels:
- Refractors – /99
- Aqua Refractors – /75
- Gold Refractors – /50
- Orange Lave Refractors – /25
- Red Refractors – /5
- Superfractors – 1/1
Select cards have Image Variations, short prints that look like base cards but have different photos. One-of-one Black parallels are available for these.
Autographs and Inserts
Base Autographs are where collectors will find the majority of the product’s signatures. Keeping with the brand’s history, they use stickers. Blue (/150), Green (/99), Gold (/50), Orange (/25), Red (/10) and Black (1/1) versions also exist.
Topps is also adding Chrome Autographs in jumbo packs including Orange Lava Refractors (/25), Red Refractors (/5) and Superfractors (1/1).
Another addition to 2022 Topps Pro Debut Baseball is Draftboards Quad Autographs that have signatures from four players.
Future Cornerstones Autographs use a colorful backdrop. Base versions all have serial numbers including their Gold (/50), Orange (/25), Red (/10) and Black (1/1) parallels.
The 2022 Topps Pro Debut Baseball checklist does bring some names back from the past. MiLB Legends (1:6 packs) use the 1960 Topps Baseball design to showcase greats from yesteryear.
The product adds two new insert themes, Brick by Brick (1:6 packs) and Draftee Debuts (1:12 packs) that spotlight players’ first pro city.
All three insert sets have Green (/99), Orange (/25) and Black (1/1) parallels as well as autographs for select cards.
