2022 Topps Garbage Pail Kids x MLB Series 2 makes more baseball stars into GPK characters. This time around, Alex Pardee provides the artwork, taking over from Keith Shore who did Series 1.
Once again an online-exclusive on the Topps website, they’re available both as single packs and eight-pack boxes.
2022 Topps Garbage Pail Kids x MLB Series 2 Checklist Overview
The base set has 15 different players, each with A and B name variations. That makes for a 30-card set. They’re all Pardee creations so there are some monstrous interpretations, although not quite to the same level of horror as some of his Topps Project70 creations. These are Garbage Pail Kids, after all.
Standard parallels come in ten levels:
- Silver Foil
- Rainbow Foil – /250
- Baseball Stitching Foil – /199
- Pink Foil – /99
- Green Foil – /75
- Orange Foil – /50
- Blue Foil – /25
- Purple Foil – /10
- Red Foil – /5
- Gold Foil – 1/1
There are also three additional levels that have 15 cards each, highlighting each piece of art but not every name variation: C Name (1:10 packs), No Name (1:16 packs) and Wrapper Art (1:40 packs).
Pardee has a self portrait with two versions that appear every five packs. These also have autographs with on-card signatures that are 1:120 packs.
Rounding out the checklist is a Baseball Guy Pencil Sketch card that’s 1:100 packs.
Every pack has five base cards and either a parallel or an insert.
Individual packs of 2022 Topps Garbage Pail Kids x MLB Series 2 cost $24.99. An eight-pack box runs $194.99. This is not a timed release and will be available until it sells out.

Cool set, but the big question is when will they ship the product? They STILL have not shipped Series 1… so it makes sense Topps should go ahead and sell Series 2. Topps logic? Series 1 had an estimated ship date of late October and I haven’t (at least) got an excuse email why it’s delayed. Silence is NOT golden.
