2021 Upper Deck SP Premier Prospects Basketball Checklist and Details
With 2021 Upper Deck SP Premier Prospects Basketball, it has the card maker doing standalone basketball again. It’s not a large set and it’s not licensed by the NBA, but it’s Upper Deck basketball.
The base set has just eight cards. All are 2021 draft picks. Of those, seven are first round picks including Scottie Barnes, Josh Giddey and Jonathan Kuminga who went in the top 10.

The design finds its roots 25 years in the past. It’s based on the 1996-97 SP Basketball subset that featured such Rookie Cards as Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson and Steve Nash.

Cards are available exclusively on Upper Deck’s e-Pack platform. Rather than buying packs with random cards, they’re being sold individually. Collectors can pick the cards and quantities they want for $9.99 each.
There is a chase element though. Gold parallels land 1:10 packs. These have a simple change in the name and logo color on the front. Gold cards are a second card in applicable packs and do not replace the base card.

Collectors who build the full set of eight can redeem it for a special LeBron James Achievement card. A full set of Gold parallels unlocks a Gold version.
