2021 Topps Heritage Minors Baseball Takes a Nostalgic Look Into the Future
2021 Topps Heritage Minors Baseball spins out of the year’s main Heritage MLB release. Taking design elements from 1972, there’s a mix of looking back and ahead throughout the checklist.
2021 Topps Heritage Minors Checklist Overview
The base set arrives with 220 total cards, the final 20 of which are short prints. Landing 1:6 packs, hobby boxes should have three of them.
The design is based in 1972 Topps Baseball with some tweaks to make it work for current MiLB players and teams. This also means a couple of subsets like In Action and Topps Traded.
For the first 200 cards on the checklist, there’s a handful of parallels:
- Blue – /99
- Green – /75
- Black – /50
- Gold – (one per case)
- Red – 1/1
Select cards also have Image Variations that use different photos. Some of these also have autographs (/50).
Autographs and Inserts
Autographs are two per 2021 Topps Heritage Minors hobby box. Like Heritage MLB, most of these fall under the Real One Autograph banner. Essentially, these carry the same general design as base cards. In recent years, it has also brought on-card autographs. And while Topps’ preview images show hard signatures, they don’t say so specifically.
Blue (/99), Black (/50), Black/Blue (/25) and Red (1/1) versions are also available.
For those looking for multiple signatures, there are Real One Dual Autographs, which have just 20 copies each.
Three additional insert sets borrow from specific parts of 1972 Topps.
It all starts with the original set’s wrapper art. 1972 Topps Pack Covers (1:4.5 packs) use design elements and the pose from the wrapper to create a set of cards with current MiLB players. Autograph versions have 50 copies each as well as a one-of-one Red parallel.
Boyhood Photos of the Stars (1:6 packs) has its roots in a subset showing players when they were kids.
The main insert lineup rounds out with 1972 Topps Venezuelan Stamp cards (1:4.5 packs).
Box Topper Bonus Packs
Every 2021 Topps Heritage Minors hobby box has bonus pack of three 1972 Topps Poster cards. While the layout is similar to the original mini posters, these have been converted into traditionally sized baseball cards.
Randomly inserted autographs are numbered to 25. One-of-one Red autographs are also available.
