2020 Topps 206 Baseball Variations Guide
It turns out 2020 Topps 206 Baseball variations exist. Not only that, but they’re in multiple waves of the online-exclusive product.
These weren’t announced or even hinted at in advance. But as collectors have busted their packs, they’re discovering some differences.
It begins in Wave 2 with the most famous name connected to T206 — Honus Wagner. His regular base card in the 2020 release has the same image as his beyond iconic card from more than 100 year ago. However, there’s a scarce SSP that changes both the image and the background color.
The 2020 Topps 206 Baseball variations checklist makes a big jump in Wave 3 with several new cards. However, these are much more subtle. Base cards in this group have the player’s minor league team name on the front. For the short prints, the only difference is that the team name on the front has been changed to the city. For example, Joey Bart’s base card lists him as a member of the Flying Squirrels. The SSP puts it as Richmond.
Print runs or odds for the variations are not known.
