2020 Leaf Metal Draft Baseball Checklist and Details
2020 Leaf Metal Draft Baseball brings with it another all-autograph checklist. And once again, collectors have a couple of options when it comes to box configurations. Traditional hobby boxes have six autographs per box. Jumbo boxes return delivering nine autographs plus one sone-of-one autograph proof.
Living up to its name, 2020 draft picks are a big part of the checklist. However, other top baseball prospects can also be found.
Base autographs make up the majority of the set, but there are some additional inserts. State Pride highlights where players are from. Top Picks focus on key draft picks and the spot they were taken. The 1990 Leaf Baseball design gets another chromium makeover with a new crop of players.
Parallels feature the usual rainbow. Cards get different colored borders and progressively smaller print runs. However, Leaf is also bringing a couple of patterned parallels. These have their own assortment of color-based versions as well, making for an even more expansive checklist. Mojo is a repeating geometric look. Crystals are similar to Panini’s Cracked Ice and Topps’ Atomic Refractors.
The one-of-one Proofs found in jumbo boxes originate in the production process. These come already encased in a slab.

Hi Ryan, thanks for compiling this. Would you recommend the jumbo hobby box as it comes with the 1/1 auto or get more total autos paying a little more for 2 hobby boxes? Just getting back into the hobby, appreciate it!
@RJ – I haven’t opened either so it’s hard for me to say. I guess it depends on whether you want more autographs or the guaranteed 1/1. Most everything is pretty rare on the checklist to start with. If I’m considering boxes I look at what a possible worst-case scenario might be and make decisions based on that.
