2020 Bowman Mega Box Chrome Baseball Checklist and Details
Yes, the 2020 Bowman Mega Box is arriving at Target. Launching at the start of June, it includes a new installment of exclusive 2020 Bowman Mega Box Chrome cards with the “Mojo” pattern.
As with the past few years, these blaster style boxes combine packs of Bowman along with a couple of packs of exclusive 2020 Bowman Chrome Mega Box cards.
2020 Bowman Chrome Mega Box Baseball Base Set Basics
While there are similarities to the main 2020 Bowman Baseball set, 2020 Bowman Mega Box Chrome Baseball can be seen as a separate product. Cards take 100 of the 150 Bowman Chrome Prospects and give them a patterned makeover.
Cards stick with the Bowman Chrome tradition of Refractors. The rainbow here consists of: Purple (1:19 packs), Pink (1:24), Blue (1:32), Green (1:48), Gold (1:95), Orange (1:189), Red (1:940) and Black (1:4,640).
Image Variations are also available. Base versions are 1:210 packs. Black Refractors land 1:45,007 while autographs for select cards are 1:2,037.
Autographs and Inserts
What would Bowman be without autographs from the game’s prospects? Mega Box Autographs aren’t overly tough. Base versions have 1:16 pack odds, which work out to 1:8 boxes. On top of these are additional Refractors: Blue (1:129), Green (1:195), Orange (1:767) and Black (1:18,753).
A couple of insert sets from Bowman cross over into 2020 Bowman Mega Box Chrome Baseball: Rookie of the Year Favorites (1:2) and Spanning the Globe (1:4). Both have seven levels of additional Refractors: Purple (1:95), Pink (1:119), Blue (1:157), Green (1:238), Orange (1:940), Red (1:4,640) and Black (1:22,504). Select Rookie of the Year Favorites also have autographs along with corresponding Orange and Black Refractors.

Not seeing how the math works on this one …
Four 10-card packs and two Chrome packs of 5 cards each = 50 cards.
Regular blasters have 6 packs of 12 cards each = 72 cards.
Unless I am mistaken, this is not a “Bowman Chrome” product based on the packaging … it’s regular Bowman with two Chrome packs.
Either way, I know the retail sharks can’t wait to gobble these up.
@Randy – This is a special box. The two Chrome packs are different from the ones in regular packs. They’ve been doing these for a few years now.
It’s sold out before it got released Topps should stop making these too hard to find
@Leor – It’s also possible that they’ve only posted the page and it hasn’t been put up for sale yet. These have always had plenty of supply. They’re popular and people have been buying them.

Where? These get insta-bought by the pack searching card trolls and ebay-reselling scum every year and no one can find any. My two closest Targets have guys WAITING on release days who buy out entire shelves when Excel Marketing shows up to stock them.
I’d LOVE to find some, but normal collectors always lose out on retail exclusive stuff like this.
@Doc – My comment was in regard to there being the number made. These haven’t been overly rare boxes. They can seem that way when someone goes in and cleans out a store in one go. That can certainly create a perception of rarity. But if you look at the cards that are out there, they’re readily available.

@James – They will be sold at Target (in stores and they may become available online).

James mentioned the packs Bowman packs included in these were unique to this box. In the past these packs contain ONLY base Bowman “Paper” 1-100, Bowman “Paper” Prospects BP1-BP150, and Bowman Chrome Prospects BCP1-BCP150. Resellers will sell these packs relatively cheap due to perceived value limited to only set builders. The reality is collectors lucky enough to pay retail $20 MSRP is paying that for the 2 Chrome Mega Refractor packs… $20 for 10 cards with 2 of those (1 per pack) as set inserts.
I believe the frustration most collectors have about product availability is related to SEALED cases being sold online for 2x-4x MSRP. Since this is a retail (Target) only product, there is no way a Target customer is buying a sealed brown shipping box off the shelf. Eventhough Target sells this product in-store and online but they (typically) do not merchandise (put it on shelf) – another company does that – so theoretically this items touches more hands before it’s sold than other store items.

@Leor – That is what some are asking for on the secondary market. If you find it at Target it’s $19.99. Looks like some are only now starting to surface. As more pop up, it should stabilize.
Check offer up. Very frustrating when you see somone selling them double the price online .
