2020 Bowman 1st Edition Baseball is looking to hold collectors over until the line’s full release in the (hopefully) soon but to-be-determined future.
Starting April 22, a limited number of packs were available on Topps’ website. Each had ten cards and a $14.99 price tag. Additionally, some packs were available through card shops that are part of Topps’ MVP program.
The 2020 Bowman 1st Edition Baseball checklist limits itself to the 150 Prospects from the main set. The design is the same but cards have an additional First Edition stamp on them.
Parallels include Sky Blue (1:2 packs), Blue (/150), Yellow (/75), Gold (/50), Orange (/25), Red (/5) and Platinum (1/1).
Autographs are available in 2020 Bowman 1st Edition Baseball, but they’re tough, landing 1:310 packs. Topps did not provide an autograph checklist, although they cover several parts of the 2020 Bowman checklist. Autographs come with a 1st Edition stamp.
It is worth noting that many signatures appear to have some smudging with the ink.
Originally scheduled to release on April 15, the full 2020 Bowman Baseball release was delayed due to COVID-19.
Although not online exclusives, Bowman 1st Edition sets were released in 2004 and 2005.

Has anyone done the math yet on prod run estimates? I did the sequentially numbered parallels alone there was 49,650 cards numbered. Thats 4,965 packs of ten just of numbered material. Not including sky blue at 1:2 packs, base, and random auto inserts. Just wondered what a fair estimate of base production totals might be?
