2020-21 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection Hockey is for those who are looking walk on the high-end side. Autographs and memorabilia cards get much of the spotlight. These also take on premium elements like on-card ink and plenty of patches.

Overall, hobby boxes come with four cards. Breaking it down further, three are hits: a rookie autograph, a memorabilia card, and either another autograph or a premium memorabilia card.

2020-21 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection Hockey Checklist Overview

Building the complete base set is going to be an undertaking. It totals 200 cards, although it’s broken down into a handful of sections:

  • Veterans (#1-75) – /149
  • Legends (#76-100) – /99
  • Ultimate Rookies (#101-200) – /299 or /99

For the Ultimate Rookies, many are autographed.

Veteran and Legends parallels include Gold (/35) and Onyx Black (/5). Select cards also have Autograph (Veterans – 1:8, Legends – 1:35), Gold Autograph (/15), and Onyx Black Autograph (1/1) versions. Veteran memorabilia parallels include Jumbo Patch (/3), Jumbo Patch Autograph (/3), and either a Shield Patch (1/1) or Shield Patch Autograph (1/1). Some Legends have one-of-one Jumbo Auto Patch versions.

On the Ultimate Rookies side, there are Auto Patch (/99 or /49), Jumbo Auto Patch (/15) and Shield Auto Patch (1/1) parallels. Jersey versions, which don’t have signatures, have print runs of 649 or 449 copies.

Autographs and Memorabilia Cards

2020-21 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection Hockey has a lot more autograph content beyond the Rookie Cards.

Ultimate Access Jersey Autographs bring a photography focus as well. All have serial numbers include Auto Patch (/99 or less), Jumbo Auto Patch (/15) and Shield Auto Patch (1/1) parallels. There’s also unsigned Jersey versions (Tier 1 – 1:12, Tier 2 – 1:85).

NHL Legacy is another theme that covers a lot of autograph and memorabilia. For starters, there are standard relics (Tier 1 – 1:18, Tier 2 – 1:50). Next up are autographs, all of which come with serial numbers. There are also Bronze Patch (/10 or less), Bronze Auto Patch (/25), Gold Tag (/3) and Gold Tag Auto (/6) parallels. All players on these are part of multi-generational NHL families.

1997 Legends Autographs (1:25 packs) bring another batch of signatures with the classic design.

Other autograph themes on the checklist include Debut Threads (/99 or less), Pro Threads (/49 or less), Rookie Accents, Rookie Signature Premium Materials, Signature Masterpieces (1:17 packs), Signature Material Laureates, Signature Premium Materials, Ultimate Signatures (1:6 packs), and Ultimate Material Signatures.

The All-Stars Skills Competition gets the spotlight in three separate but similar NHL Shield memorabilia sets. All-Star Skills Shield Patch, Auto Shield Patch and Tandem Shield Patches are all one-of-a-kind.

Sticking with the shield theme are Rookie Tandem Shield Patches (/2). These have a shield from a jersey worn by a 2020-21 rookie paired with a teammate’s shield.

Ultimate Quad Materials have four swatches and print runs of 99 copies or less.

Ultimate Introductions

More rookies can be found in the Ultimate Introductions insert set. Base versions land 1:3 packs. Top players are given the Ultimate Introductions Showcase banner. These are tougher at 1:100 packs. Autographs are also available with similar odds.

Unsigned parallels for both include Gold (/49), Onyx Black (/25) and Purple (/5). For autographs, there’s Gold (/50 or less), Onyx Black (/15) and Purple (1/1).
