2020-21 Upper Deck Premier Hockey Goes Big with Autographs and Mega on Memorabilia

2020-21 Upper Deck Premier Hockey follows through with what collectors are accustomed to with the brand. Not only does that mean lots of autographs and memorabilia cards, but some of the most premium of the season.

Hobby boxes come with just six cards. Of those one is an autograph patch card done on acetate. Three more are additional autographs and memorabilia cards.

2020-21 Upper Deck Premier Hockey Checklist Overview

The base set is the lone place on the checklist that doesn’t have signatures or swatches — at least the main portion. It has 100 total cards, split evenly between vets and rookies. Standard versions are numbered to 299 with additional parallels available in Gold (/65) and Platinum (1/1).

Other parallels do come in the form of hits. Vet Autographs are 1:10 packs with additional Gold and Platinum (1/1) versions available. Autographs for rookies fall 1:3 packs. Gold parallels here are numbered to 35 while Platinum are still one-of-ones.

Jersey parallels for the first half of the checklist land 1:5 packs. Premium Memorabilia, Fight Strap (/5) and Neckline (/3) versions join them. Rookie Jerseys parallels are every other pack. Patch versions have either 49 or 25 copies. Fight Strap (/15) and Neckline (/3) cards are also available.

Autographs and Memorabilia

Acetate autograph patch cards have been a cornerstone in Premier for several years now. In particular, rookies typically get a lot of the attention. Base versions have either 249, 149 or 99 copies, depending on the player. Gold parallels have no more than 65 copies while Platinum are one-of-ones.

Horizontal variations flip the orientation. Standard cards are numbered to 99 or 49. Gold (/25) and Platinum (1/1) are the parallels here as well.

With no more than 35 copies each, Acetate Veteran Autograph Patch cards are on the rare side, even in a product known for small print runs.

Rookie Exposé (/35) is a new autograph insert in 2020-21 Upper Deck Premier Hockey. These autographs are another place that uses acetate.

Another addition to the checklist is 2020 Premier Rookie Autographs, which combine ink and fabric. Base Jersey versions have either 99 or 25 copies each. Patch parallels are numbered to 15 while Tag Patch versions are one-of-ones.

Rookie Paramount also makes its debut. For starters, there are memorabilia (1:3 packs) versions then Patches (/35). Patch Autographs can be found with print runs of either 99 or 49.

Mega Patch returns with some of the year’s largest swatches. Chest Logos, Commemorative Logos, Shoulder Logos and Sleeve Numbers are among the possibilities on these.

The Mega theme carries over to some multi-player memorabilia cards. These include Mega Patch Duos (/25), Jersey Trios (/25), Patch Trios (/15), Jersey Quads (/15) and Jersey Patches (/5).

There are also separate Premier Dual (/99), Trios (/49) and Quad Jerseys (/25), which also have patch parallels available in smaller numbers.

Signature Pursuit and Premier Attractions are among some of the other hits in 2020-21 Upper Deck Premier Hockey.
