2020-21 Panini Select Basketball is bold. It’s colorful and shiny. It’s also going to give basketball collectors another chance at more chrome.

Hobby boxes have three total autographs and memorabilia cards. There’s also an average of one Prizms parallel per pack, which is where a lot of the color comes into play.

2020-21 Panini Select Basketball Checklist Overview

The base set is once again divided into three different sections, each with their own tweaked designs: Concourse, Premier Level and Courtside.

Concourse are the most common. Every hobby pack averages one card from either of the other two tiers. Premier Level are “uncommon” with ten per box while Courtside are “rare,” landing just two per box.

Besides the different designs, the Prizms parallels for each tier is also slightly different.

2020-21 Panini Select Basketball has a few other configurations including, for the first time in the sport, retail. For retail, though, it’s a little different. Instead of base cards there will be exclusive Blue cards replacing them. This will keep traditional base numbers to the hobby packs and boxes.

Autographs and Inserts

While Select is a line with ample autographs, most of the themes are pretty straightforward. Rookie Signatures and Rookie Jersey Autographs highlight first-year players.

In Flight Signatures, a staple of modern Select Basketball sets, returns with a new batch of past and present players.

Like the base set, there are additional color-based parallels for all three of these. Rarer Rookie Jersey Autographs cards also get an upgrade with prime swatches.

As far as other inserts go, Artistic Selections makes its return.

En Fuego, which has its roots in ’90s baseball, makes the jump to Select Basketball.

Unstoppable is also new.

    I’m confused. I pulled a shiny anthony edwards premiere level from a hanger box where all base cards were colored blue.
    1. Are all the base cards “retail blue”?
    2. Is the shiny Anthony Edwards a “BLUE ” parallel or a “SILVER”

      @Mark – The article here explains it a little more but regular Blue replace the hobby base cards in retail. There are also additional parallels that are listed on the checklist. Retail Blue is flat chrome. Prizms have the rainbow glint when you put them under light. I believe they say “Prizm” on the back as well.

    I have a #40 ja morant card that has the prizm on the back and is stamped 5/10. Green on the front . Which card is this . I haven’t seen them anywhere . Appreciate your time . Thanks

      @Jim – It doesn’t look like it’s from 2020-21 Select. If you go to beckett.com and search “Select Morant 40” it should be in your search results.

    So about how many tiger stripe courtside prisms are there of each player just trying to figure out there rarity cause I hit one !
