2019 Topps of the Class Baseball: Show Your Report Card, Get Cards — Checklist and Promo Info

Share:

2019 Topps of the Class Baseball is a promo set that lets kids gets exclusive cards simply by bringing their report card to a participating card shop. It’s a simple concept designed to encourage students to work hard in school and get a reward for their efforts.

When they show a current report card at a shop that’s participating in the program, kids receive a pack with five cards in it.

The 2019 Topps of the Class Baseball set is exclusive to the promotion. While the design closely mirrors 2019 Topps Big League Baseball, it is a totally different set with some easily spotted differences. For starters, on the front, a Topps of the Class logo replaces the Big League mark. Photos are also different.

Card numbers are also different. Topps of the Class cards have a “TC-” prefix on the back. There’s also the tagline, “Work hard in school — get great cards!”

The full 2019 Topps of the Class Baseball base set has 100 cards. It’s primarily stars along with a small number of rookies. Players like Bryce Harper and Paul Goldschmidt who changed teams in the off-season are in their new uniforms.

In addition to the base set, there’s a set of Greats inserts. Each of these are numbered to 299 copies.

They should really make David Wright an SSP. I remember getting about 1000 of those David Wright Topps of the Class inserts way back when. He is the first thing I think of with that promotion.

Only topps can turn a promotion where kids get free baseball cards into a chase for super rare gold parallels.

@fred – With today’s set structures and the overall small set size, I don’t think 299 copies of each Gold insert is going to cause a made rush.
