2019 Onyx Vintage Baseball blends the new school with the old. The checklist highlights a handful of the sport’s key prospects with autographs taking a big role in the configuration. But the look is one of an imagined past, drawing inspiration from something you might expect to find in the ’60s or ’70s.
Boxes have four total cards. Two of those are autographs.
The 2019 Onyx Vintage Baseball checklist isn’t a big one. Just 22 players are on it. However, they’re some of the premier prospects working their way up through the minors. Jo Adell, Nolan Gorman, Alex Kirilloff and Wander Franco are among those in the set. There’s also Eloy Jimenez who started the 2019 season with the Chicago White Sox.
Not only do all players have a spot on the base set checklist, but they have autographs as well. These start with Blue versions that are numbered to 200. Autograph parallels are available in Green (/50), Red (/25) and Black (/5).
Four players also have variations with different images. Base versions are limited to 30 copies each. These also have some tough autographs: Blue (/25), Green (/10), Red (/5) and Black (1/1).
2019 Onyx Vintage Baseball has a couple of other elements going for it. First up are buyback autographs from previous Onyx Authenticated releases. Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Victor Robles and Keston Hiura are among those with buybacks.
Every case also has a redemption for a graded Rookie Card. Hall of Famers and All-Stars are what’s included with these.
