2019-20 Panini NBA Hoops Blaster Box Highlights – Beckett Pricing Insider

Share:

Early November saw the release of 2019-20 Panini NBA Hoops, an affordable, collector-friendly product that contains the first cards of this year’s rookie class in their pro uniforms. Also, with a 300 card base set, Hoops provides one of the most comprehensive checklists of the season.

Here are the highlights from a retail blaster box of 11 packs with eight cards per pack. Blaster exclusives include Blue Parallels and Red Parallels. In addition, collectors will find, on average, one autograph or memorabilia card per box.

Base Rookies

Zion Williamson
Tyler Herro
Coby White
Romeo Langford
Jordan Bone
Carsen Edwards
Matisse Thybulle
Bol Bol
Kevin Porter Jr.
Dewan Hernandez
Justin James
Ty Jerome
Dylan Windler
Jaxson Hayes
Jalen McDaniels
Ja Morant (Hoops Tribute)
RJ Barrett (Hoops Tribute).

Hoops delivers on the rookie quantity, yielding 17 total highlighted by the Zion RC. Among this group, Morant, Barrett, White and Herro are off to solid starts and are nice pulls at this point.

Base Set Parallels

Blue: Chris Paul, Isiah Thomas
Purple: Marcus Smart, Charles Barkley Hoops Tribute

Autographs/Memorabilia Cards

Rise N Shine: Sekou Doumbouya

No auto this time, but a player-worn memorabilia card of Pistons rookie Doumbouya. At 18-years old, he was the youngest player selected in the 2019 NBA Draft (15th overall), and, justified or not, is already drawing comparisons to Pascal Siakam.

Rookie Inserts

Arriving Now: Coby White

Class of 2019: Rui Hachimura

Other Inserts

Get Out Of The Way: Aaron Gordon

Frequent Flyers: Giannis Antetokounmpo

Lights, Camera, Action: LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Donovan Mitchell

Some attractive, action-shot inserts here featuring big-name stars that should please collectors.

Overall, 2019-20 NBA Hoops continues the tradition of a widely available hobby/retail product heavy on rookies and inserts. Busting some packs should sufficiently whet collector appetites for some of the upcoming higher-end basketball card releases.
