2019-20 O-Pee-Chee Platinum Hockey Adds New Parallels

2019-20 O-Pee-Chee Platinum Hockey sees an overlap in tradition and modern. As has been the case since the line was introduced, the foundation sees the year’s regular O-Pee-Chee release (the tradition) get a makeover done entirely with chromium stock (the modern). And with that change in approach comes the customary parallel rainbow. OPC Platinum also features one on-card autograph per hobby box.

2019-20 O-Pee-Chee Platinum Base Set Basics

While 2019-20 O-Pee-Chee is one of the biggest sets of the year, OPC Platinum offers a much more condensed main set. Here, it’s 200 total cards — 150 vets and 50 Marquee Rookies.

The parallels start with Refractor-like Rainbow versions, which are 1:4 hobby packs. Other colors and patterns include new Sunset (1:10 packs), Matte Pink (1:20), Violet Pixels (/399), Red Prism (/199), Arctic Freeze (/99), Seismic Gold (/50), hobby-exclusive Orange Checkers (/25), Emerald Surge (/10) and Golden Treasures (1/1).

Numbered parallels combine to land approximately two per hobby box.

Autographs and Inserts

2019-20 OPC Platinum has some of the earliest on-card NHL signatures of the season’s freshman class. Rookie Autographs (1:33) take the same general design as the Marquee Rookies subset, of course with the signature addition.

Parallels take a similar rainbow approach as well with Rainbow (1:160), Violet Pixels (1:440), Matt Pink (/99), Red Prism (/50), Seismic Gold (/25), Orange Checkers (/15), Emerald Surge (/10) and Golden Treasures (1/1).

Retro cards also return, falling approximately five per hobby box. Parallels here come in Rainbow (1:20), Blue (/149), Green Houndstooth (/15) and Golden Treasures (1/1). Select Retro cards also have Red Autographs (1:160).

The checklist rounds out with three additional insert sets: Best in the World (1:15), Calder Front Runners (1:23) and Thrilling Finishes (1:27). All three of these have tough autograph versions that are exclusive to hobby packs.
