2018 Topps On Demand Black and White Baseball is a mini set available for a limited time through the Topps website. Limited time might be an understatement. It sold out within an hour.

2018 Topps On Demand Black and White Set

The set removes color from the equation, at least at the base level. Cards also come with a minimalist design, relying on the photo and the colorless contrast for its look.

Each 2018 Topps On Demand Black and White Baseball set starts with 35 base cards. It’s a mix of veterans, rookies and a couple of retired players.

Base cards all have the following parallels: Sepia (/60), Background (/25), Full Player (/10) and Full Color (1/1). These combine to land two per set.

2018 Topps On Demand Black and White Full Player

2018 Topps On Demand Black and White has a pair of chase sets with one of each included in every mini factory set. Historical Moments spotlights five big plays and records including Hank Aaron’s 715th home run and Cal Ripken becoming baseball’s Iron Man.

Candid Moments is a ten-card insert set pairing teammates together.

Both of these inserts have the same levels of parallels as the base set.

The reason the 2018 Topps On Demand Black and White sets sold out so quickly can likely be attributed to the autographs. They’re not guaranteed in each set but every second set has one. The checklist includes Shohei Ohtani, Ronald Acuna, Derek Jeter, Gleyber Torres and Jose Altuve. Virtually all of the signers are top-line rookies, veteran All-Stars or Hall of Famers. Autographs parallels are available in Background (/25), Full Player (/10) and Full Color (1/1).
