2018 Rittenhouse Twin Peaks Gives Updated Take on Classic and New Episodes

2018 Rittenhouse Twin Peaks trading cards bring the duality of the show back to the hobby in a few different forms. Outside of the characters and stories themselves, the most notable is that it’s the first mainstream set of cards since it was first on the air more than 25 years earlier. But it also folds in elements from the new episodes.

As a modern set, it includes elements and a configuration that wasn’t around when the show first arrived. That means more autographs and inserts.

2018 Rittenhouse Twin Peaks Base Set and Inserts

The main base set recaps the original series that originally aired in 1990 to 1991. It spans 90 cards to cover all 30 episodes (three cards per episode).

They have a couple of parallels. Retro versions land two per box. These will be numbered to 99 copies or less. There are also Printing Plates, but these are only available in incentive Archive Boxes.

For those going for a master set with all of the inserts, 2018 Rittenhouse Twin Peaks poses a challenge. Inserts aren’t necessarily rare from an insertion perspective, but some large checklists are going to necessitate focus and patience.

The 18 episodes of Twin Peaks: The Return are covered in a 54-card Limited Event Series set. These fall three per box.

Other inserts include Character Cards (42 cards, 1:12 packs), Quotable Twin Peaks (15 cards, 1:24 packs) and It’s Happening Against (two cards, 1:288 packs).

Autographs

Each 2018 Rittenhouse Twin Peaks box has a pair of autographs.

2018 Rittenhouse Twin Peaks Autographs

Autographs aren’t new to Twin Peaks trading cards. The original Star Pics set was one of the first non-sport releases to have them. Today, they’re both extremely tough and susceptible to counterfeits.

The extensive list of signers in 2018 Rittenhouse Twin Peaks covers both the original series and The Return. Kyle MacLachlan (Agent Cooper), Madchen Amick (Shelly Johnson) and Sherilyn Fenn(Audrey Horn) are among the leads signing for the set. There’s also David Duchovny and series creator David Lynch.

Dual Autographs are also randomly inserted. Combinations include MacLachlan and Fenn, MacLachlan and Sheryl Lee, and Amick and Dana Ashbrook.

Incentive Cards

2018 Rittenhouse Twin Peaks incentives are available to those pre-ordering multiple 12-box cases of product. It starts at six cases with a Kyle MacLachlan autographed costume card. For nine cases, it’s a MacLachlan/Michael Ontkean dual autograph.

Finally, there’s a special Archive Box for those getting 18 cases. Besides the Printing Plates, these have a pair of exclusive autograph variations: Sheryl Lee as Madeleine “Maddy” Ferguson, and Piper Laurie as Mr. Tojamura.

A binder is also available for the set with an exclusive costume card.

This is the third set of Twin Peaks trading cards. The first was released by Star Pics in 1991. Although the base cards aren’t rare, the autographs are and still command big sales.

A DVD box set of the complete original series came with postcard-sized trading cards. Each had 12 cards in a set of more than 60. Among them are some scarce chase cards and an extremely scarce David Lynch autograph. Only the first run of copies of the DVD set had the cards so they’re not the easiest to find today.
