2017 Funko Classic NFL Dorbz Minis Deliver Blind Bag Spin on Football Legends
The 2017 Funko Classic NFL Dorbz Minis line combines a couple levels of nostalgia with the decidedly new-school approach to blind bag figures.
First, they feature a dozen retired gridiron greats. Those who grew up in the 1970s and ’80s might feel an additional pang for the past as their design is reminiscent of the Fisher Price Little People many grew up playing with. They’re definitely not exact, but there is a vibe to them.
The figures come packaged as a blind bag product. This means that they’re kind of like a pack of cards in that you don’t know which one you’re getting until it’s opened.
Dorbz have a distinct look to them, even more so than a lot of Funko Pop figures. Body shapes and facial expressions are all the same. The differences come with the paint, primarily the uniform, helmet and player’s skin color. Eric Dickerson also has his signature goggles.
The lineup has some overlap with Funko’s line of NFL Legends Pop figures, also releasing in 2017. However, there are also lots of different figures in each of the lines as well.
As the name suggests, these are smaller than regular Dorbz figures. 2017 Funko Classic NFL Dorbz Minis stand 1.5 inches tall.
Each box comes with 24 figures. They’re scheduled to release in October.
