2016 Topps WWE Then, Now, Forever Checklist and Details

Share:

2016 Topps WWE Then, Now, Forever is basically an extension of the year’s earlier flagship release. It’s like a Series 2, if you will. Designs and the overall feel remain the same but the checklist opens up to include some recent arrivals, more retired Legends and fresh faces working their way through NXT.

2016 Topps WWE Then Now Forever Header

The 100-card base set is highlighted by some of the newer names on the WWE roster like AJ Styles. Hobby packs have four levels of parallels: Bronze, hobby-only Silver, Gold (/10), Printing Plates and Red (1/1).

NXT Prospects return. Falling 1:2 packs, the 20-card checklist includes a mix of young stars and international names who have recently signed with WWE. Shinsuke Nakamura is among those expected in the set.

With the continued expansion of the WWE Network, it means more wrestling-related content is being produced now than ever before. 2016 Topps WWE Then, Now, Forever reflects that with three new insert sets that stem directly out of this programming. Stone Cold Podcast (1:4 packs) highlights guests and episodes from the interview show. Total Divas (1:2) features moments from the reality show’s fifth season. WWE Breaking Ground (1:2) offers a cardboard look at the show that looks at how NXT wrestlers are trying to make it to wrestling’s biggest stage.

The product wraps up The Rock Tribute. This is the fourth ten-card installment that, when put together, looks back on the key moments of The Rock’s career in the ring. The other 30 cards were spread throughout other 2016 Topps WWE Road to Wrestlemania, 2016 Topps WWE and 2016 Topps WWE Heritage.

Every 2016 Topps WWE Then, Now, Forever has two hit-style inserts from a list that includes autographs, relics and medallion cards.

Autographs subjects are a mix of current WWE stars and personalities, NXT wrestlers and WWE Legends. Among the parallels are Bronze (/50), Silver (/25), Gold (/10), four different Printing Plates (1/1) and Red (1/1).

Triple Autographs are extremely tough to come by. They’re numbered to 11.

Kiss Cards and Autographed Kiss Cards return with lip prints from female wrestlers. Both have Gold (/10) and Red (1/1) versions in addition to the base cards.

Event-used relics come in two forms. The first is your basic Shirt Relics that have pieces of clothing worn by the featured star. Royal Rumble 2016 Mat Relics have a piece of the canvas from the marquee event.

Mask and Face Paint Medallions highlight superstars who made their face a major part of their character’s persona. These have a medallion embedded into the card to showcase their masks or make-up.

Relics and Medallion Cards have multiple levels of parallels: Bronze (/50), Silver (/25), Gold (/10) and Red (1/1).
