2016 Topps Garbage Pail Kids Prime Slime TV Preview Set Checklist, Details

Topps continues to position Garbage Pail Kids as more and more of a pop culture critique. The 2016 Topps Garbage Pail Kids Prime Slime TV Preview set spoofs five shows while warming up collectors to the idea of full 2016 GPK Series 2 set, which takes a television theme.

While the main Series 2 release follows a traditional route of packs and boxes, the preview set is an online exclusive at the Topps website.

Orange Is the New Black, American Ninja Warrior and Undercover Boss are among the five shows spoofed in the release.

The full 2016 Topps Garbage Pail Kids Prime Slime TV Preview Set checklist includes ten cards. Each of the five shows has two different name variations.

Sets are being sold direct by Topps for 48 hours. The sales window closed on May 27. Only those ordered during this window were made. All have a print run of 182 copies except the Beauty and the Beast cards that have 183 copies.

Two-card pairs cost $9.99 while a full set of ten cards runs $29.99. This is a similar format to other recent Garbage Pail Kids online offerings centered on the Oscars, the Presidential race, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Grammy Awards.

I have just confirmed with Topps Customer Service that the entire print run on Card #5a Undercover Bo were numbered in error as 5b. They are NOT going to correct the error according to their customer service rep.
It will be considered an uncorrected error and not really worth much more than normal due to the fact that they are all printed in error.
Just for clarification, the REAL 5b Bossy Bobby is numbered as 5b also…..but correctly of course.
