Just like previous years, the 2016 Panini National Sports Collectors Convention wrapper redemption set takes a multi-faceted approach like their other promo sets. That means athletes from several sports. It also means a checklist that has a sizable base set (by promo card standards), inserts, autographs and memorabilia cards.

A lot of the specifics still haven’t been announced, including how to get the packs. Collectors will have to buy certain products, each with their own allotment of exclusive 2016 Panini National Sports Collectors Convention packs. And while the set is made specifically for the show, it’s not in short supply so those who aren’t able to make it to Atlantic City shouldn’t have too much trouble finding the basic elements on the secondary market.

Base Set

The base set is broken into a couple of parts. More than 30 star players from baseball, football, basketball and soccer are included. There’s no word yet on if NASCAR racers will be included here like they were in the 2016 Panini Father’s Day promo set. All of the cards in the Rookies subset come serial numbered to 1499 or less.

Additional subsets exist for Legends (retired players) and New York Baseball.

Autographs

Like the rest of the release, there’s some variety in the 2016 Panini National Sports Collectors Convention autographs. The first to be announced come at opposite ends of the spectrum for football. 2016 NFLPA Rookie Premiere Next Day Autographs include a photo from the event, were printed immediately and signed on-card before things wrapped up. Meanwhile, the 2014 Pro Football Hall of Fame Autographs look at Canton inductees. These are also hard-signed.

As the 2016 National Sports Collectors Convention draws near, Panini should be releasing more details. A separate set of Panini cards are also included in the NSCC VIP package.
