2015 Topps Supreme Football Details
As with past years, 2015 Topps Supreme Football focuses on its premium elements like autographs and memorabilia. There’s also attention to making those cards a little more distinct through designs and themes. But as with any product that delves into the high-end of the hobby, there’s a level of risk that comes with it.
Boxes of the hobby-only product have just four cards, one of which is a serial-numbered autograph, relic or autographed relic.
Both collectors and card companies recognize that not all hits are created equal. An autograph is often more desirable than a basic player-worn relic. A one-of-one patch card signed by a Hall of Famer is going to trump a signature from a rookie backup receiver. While Topps offers no guarantees with regards to the players on the checklist, 2015 Topps Supreme Football does spread out the distribution of the key cards. Cases, which have 16 boxes, break down to include one multi-autograph card, four autographed relics, three autographed rookies, two Supreme autographs, an additional autograph and five Supreme relics.
2015 Topps Supreme Football Autographs
The majority of basic autographs in 2015 Topps Supreme Football come in two similar but separate types. Supreme Autographs come numbered to 99 or less with a checklist of more than 20 players. All are current stars or retired greats. Parallels include Gold, Green (/10), Red (1/1) and Printing Plates.
Supreme Rookie Autographs have a slightly different design. Base versions are numbered to varying amounts. Gold, Green (/25), Red (1/1) and Printing Plate parallels also exist.
Muti-autographs come with signatures from two or four veteran, rookie or retired players. The Dual Autograph checklist is large with as many as 50 cards. As most would expect, Quad Autographs (/5) are significant tougher as their print run is so small and there are no more than ten different cards in the set. Dual and Quad Autographs have one-of-one Red parallels.
The product has additional rare autograph cards that come with more distinct themes. Inscription Autograph Book cards open up to have the player’s signature on one side. The other side is inscribed in silver ink against a dark background. Autographed QB Playbook Book cards (/5) take a similar approach only instead of the inscription, there’s a hand-drawn play to go with the signature.
Autographed Relics
All autographed relics in 2015 Topps Supreme Football either come with multiple swatches or use patches and other premium pieces. Like a lot of other parts of the product, they use stickers for the signatures as well.
Supreme Autographed Patch cards have a checklist of first-year players, veterans and retired players. In addition to the numbered basic versions, there are Gold (/25), Green (/10) and Red (1/1) parallels.
Supreme Autographed Quad Relics each have four pieces. Gold (/10), Green (/5) and Red (1/1) parallels include a patch with the mix.
Numbered Supreme Autographed Jumbo Relics deliver a larger swatch. These have just Green (/5) and Red (1/1) parallels.
One-of-one Autographed Team Logo Patch Book cards open horizontally with the signature and player image on one half. The other has an over-sized patch piece.
Dual Autograph Patch Book cards have signatures and relics from a pair of players.
Relic Cards
Basic Relic cards follow the pattern in other parts of the release, offering a broad mix of players making their debut in 2015, returning stars and some from the past.
Rookie Quad Patch cards have four swatches, none of which come from the plain part of a player-worn jersey. Veteran Quad Relic cards have one piece of patch to go with three basic swatches.
2015 Topps Supreme Football has several one-of-one relic cards that deliver something a little more. Supreme Jumbo Patch cards use big pieces and multiple colors. Other one-of-a-kind cards come with gloves, ball laces, tags, footballs and jersey shields.
Base Set
For most, the base set is likely to be something of an afterthought. Although the size of the set hasn’t been announced, it does have rookies, veterans and retired players. Serial-numbered parallels are Copper, Violet (/99), Gold (/50), Green (/25), Red (1/1) and Printing Plates.
