In case the many patterns weren’t enough, the 2015 Topps High Tek Baseball Home Uniform Variations put another spin on the complex product. These cards take a more traditional photo swap approach. Select players have a second base card where they’re depicted in their lighter jerseys.

The Home Uniform Variations land 1:42 boxes. That’s 1:3.5 cases, so they’re not easy. The combination of the subtle differences in pictures (which don’t have a photo background) and the many pattern variations for base cards, will likely make them tougher to spot for some.

The ten-card set includes a mix of current players like Mike Trout, Clayton Kershaw and Buster Posey as well as such retired superstars as Derek Jeter and Ken Griffey Jr.

There is no pattern as to who has a Home Uniform Variation. They include players from both the ‘A’ and ‘B’ player groupings on the main checklist. However, these variations do use the Pattern 1A Grass backdrop that is normally reserved for the A group. So if you have the 112-card checklist memorized (or you have one handy), it’s a giveaway if you find someone from the B group with the Grass pattern.
