2015-16 Upper Deck Day with the Cup Flashbacks mark the second time out for the surprise insert in Series 2 packs. This time around, the set looks at the New York Islanders and their Stanley Cup dynasty of the early 1980s.

Like last year’s set dedicated to the Pittsburgh Penguins of the early 1990s, the 2015-16 Upper Deck Day with the Cup Flashbacks are tough pulls. How tough? It’s speculative as Upper Deck hasn’t confirmed anything.

The checklist appears to have three key players for the Islanders: Mike Bossy, Bob Nystrom and Denis Potvin.

Because this is one of Upper Deck’s surprise inserts, it wasn’t included on the 2015-16 Upper Deck Series 2 checklist and the final number of cards could grow. The 2014-15 set featured four Penguins including Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr.

Upper Deck has not confirmed the final checklist for the set so there may be more that will be added.
