2015-16 Panini Threads Basketball Details

Panini America‘s relationship with Target continues to grow as the company will have another exclusive product coming soon in the form of 2015-16 Panini Threads Basketball.

2015-16 Panini Threads Basketball Davis

With several different formats expected to be available for collectors to open, 2015-16 Panini Threads Basketball should have something for every budget and range from loose gravity feed packs to Hobby Premium boxes. Like many of the Target-exclusive releases from the past, there is only a little bit of time between its announcement and arrival on store shelves and it is set to come out at the end of March.

Base Set

Panini showed off the base card design through its official blog, but there are not any details available in regard to how large the base set will be or if there are parallels.

Rookie cards will come in four different varieties, depending on the type of 2015-16 Panini Threads Basketball packaging. Micro-etch Rookies utilize holofoil and are in loose gravity feed packs while blaster boxes contain Wood Rookies that use an actual wood card stock. Those with the budget to dabble in Hobby Premium boxes can pull two different types of cards depicting freshmen with Base Rookies and Leather Rookies (featuring leather card stock, of course).

The only non-memorabilia insert cards initially announced are expected to be a challenging pull. Century Stars are seeded once per Hobby Premium case and the set is made up of 20 prominent players.

One of last year’s most compelling autograph collections offered up by Panini were the Voices of the Game Signatures and they are back again in 2015-16 Panini Threads Basketball. The roster of signers includes such notables as Bob Knight, Grant Hill, Chris Webber, and Shaquille O’Neal.

New to 2015-16 Panini Threads Basketball are Triple Threat Materials, which contain three pieces of game-worn memorabilia. Threads Die-Cut Jerseys will return as well along with Team Threads Rookies and Rookie Threads (one per blaster).  Also look for autographed memorabilia cards.
