The set was a Pittsburgh area regional set and was sold over a period of six weeks in three-card packs at Giant Eagle grocery stores. A folder to hold the set, which pictured Lemieux, was available for 99 cents during the first week of the promotion. A gold parallel version of the set also can be found. These cards, issued at a rate of one per ten packs, featured gold foil lettering of Lemieux's name. Authentic autographed cards also were randomly inserted into packs.
