RE: New search limits
My search count started over yesterday and I was marking down each one. I only have the football pricing and looks like it is 1,000. If I wasn't doing the purging (the two boxes of miscellaneous players really dinged it big), I will be good. Though I am not a seller like some of you and that will make a big difference. When I am through purging football, I am moving on to baseball and will get baseball pricing for 1 month. Not sure if that will double me to 2,000 or somewhere in between.
I collect Andre Johnson, JJ Watt, Redskins who played in the 70’s & 80’s, HOF’ers and Texas A&M Aggies.

RE: New search limits
I just received the search limit message after 5 days! I’ve searched a bunch, but no way I’ve searched enough in 5 days to get limited.

We will see what Beckett is willing to do, but if it is not resolved, I will move my business elsewhere, even if it means not using a price guide.

RE: New search limits
I have not had more than 10% search limit used since they started this program...not sure what some people do differently.

RE: New search limits
Today is 12/23 at 0600 and I have 65%.  I have a small ebay store (1500 cards) and search a lot of stuff from mystery packs etc.  Have been close a couple of months at 905+, but never over.  I just can not wrap my head around why they have limited my search ability at all.  I am searching my own cards I have imputed.

I really don't like that they limit us from searching our own collections. I haven't hit my maximum yet but just knowing that it could happen makes me like this site even less.
I collect Hall of Fame baseball player cards and cards of current and retired superstars.

RE: New search limits
As a Total Access subscriber, I have experienced no restrictions from these search limits.  I was concerned at first, so I changed my search habits slightly.  I try to start with a generic search, then filter to get to what I am looking for when I can.  Other than that, I have not adjusted my regular habits in OPG or Organize.  I don't remember ever being over 10% of my allowed search limit despite significant levels of activity.

I tend to want to defend Beckett, but I do not think they handled this Intellectual Property "breach" situation very well.  They are punishing loyal and honest subscribers the same way as they are dishonest subscribers.  With the search limits, they have also thrown into the mix a sleazy marketing tactic of their own (buy the more expensive Total Access plan, and you will get more searches).  Of course, I really miss print functionality as well.

The frustrating thing for me is knowing there are better ways Beckett could have handled this AND they seems to not care and not want to listen to reasonable suggestions.

RE: New search limits
On a related note about subscriptions, I got a sales call from Beckett 3 weeks ago about a renewing special for 2 years. I asked that they email me the information.

After two weeks of nothing received I got a 2nd sales call with the same 2-year special so I said I never received an email and asked for it again. The salesperson hesitated but said they would send it. Nothing a week later!

So, what gives?! Why won't they send me an offer rather than force me to pull the trigger over the phone?? Is this another privacy issue?! Lol

I just renewed my subscription on the website for another year because I honestly will not miss that $130 and like checking values even if it is only moderately accurate.

RE: New search limits
I did searches to add over 220 individual cards that used only 7% of my limit.

RE: New search limits
I searched for current values of other products on 150 players and used 12% of my limit. I think it was higher because there was usually more than one page per search.
