Do a super master inventory of my 14,000 Piazzas in which they are all in front of me and confirmed once and for all (usually I do a chunk of them at a time at work when it's slow) Then package it all up to put myself back into retirement for a while. I have staycation from January 4-14 and this is task #1

# 1 for me is to re-acquire my 2011 Mike Trout US175's back (2). Don't care of grades for now.
#2 get rid of all my non-Phillies non-RC base cards.
#3 only purchase items that equal money from sales
#4 keep better records for tax purposes - have no issues but I don't ever mess with the IRS
$5 figure out what to do with my daily Zeoprock Collection fix....LOL

Most important - HAVE FUN WITH / IN THE HOBBY!

Happy New Years everyone

So, not sure what you are thinking here, but as a 24-year tax professional you have nothing to worry about unless the 'hobby' turns into a business on Schedule C.

Understand, but concerned for non-Ebay platforms like COMC or Beckett and treatment of "cost basis".  As a corporate finance professional, just things I think about.

Try to stay alive. Another year and another challenge.
Continue to collect but with prices the way they are ?
Try to start selling again but that is a big ?
And pray that all you guys stay safe for another year.

RE: Q: 2022 Hobby Goals
This year I will continue grading my cards and marking them correctly in my Organize. I entered everything years ago at the default setting so I've been going through my collection and adjusting conditions to reflect a more accurate value.

I also have thousands of cards sitting in my "purgatory box" waiting to be put into their respective binders. I need to chip away at those and get them all settled in their new homes.

I plan to pick up my 2022 Topps Factory set this year.

I hope to get back to some card shows. I've seen one scheduled for February and it's been two years since we've had a show. I want to mask up and attend and come home with a bunch of "new" cards for my collection.
I collect Hall of Fame baseball player cards and cards of current and retired superstars.
