1985 vs 1987 topps all time record holders box set
Hey guys, is there any way to tell the difference between the two box sets:

1985 Woolworth All time record holders and 1987 Boardwalk Baseball All time record holders if they have been taken out of the boxes?

Cards look the same to me and the 1987 set cards have 1985 printed on the back.

Thanks!

Those set don't look anything alike. The 1985
Woolworths has a border that looks a wooden picture frame, the 1987 Boardwalk has a thin red border around the picture with the b/b emblem in a circle at the bottom right. My suspicion is that if they both came out of the factory boxes, that a collector had put them back in the wrong box at one time.

Are you sure you are not talking about the 1987 boardwalk run top run makers set? That looks like the set you are describing. There are numerous of the 1987 boardwalk all time record holder sets on Ebay that look just like the 1985 Woolworths set.

Ah, I see that. I did a little digging and it looks like Topps may have repackaged the set in 1987. I would guess there is no way to tell the difference once they are opened.
