After another abysmal night from the floor (5-21 I think is where he finished up) it got me wondering just how terrible of a shooter is Russell Westbrook anyways? So I have every season from 1978 through 2019 pulled down and decided to use simple regression by season to determine how many 2's and 3's a player should have made based on how many attempted vs. league average. And the results were amazing.

Out of 938 players with at least 2500 career FGA Westbrook ranked 904th in FG efficiency relative to league average. He ranked 937th in points scored vs. expected (only Allen Iverson was worse on far more attempts so far). That's so unbelievably terrible that I honestly can't fathom how a genuinely good player can be that god awful at shooting. But interestingly, some of the players around him are all-time greats (including Iverson, to a degree). Jason Kidd ranks 936th in points scored vs. expected and 880th in FG efficiency.

Btw, just b/c it's fun to do - Andrew Wiggins ranks 883rd in career FG efficiency, and he does NOTHING else of value on the court so there's that.Youjizz Pornhub Tubegalore

As a Thunder season ticket holder (and semi-fan, I'm not from here but I've kind of adopted them) I cannot understand why they keep him. This team drafts so well and trades so awful. Imagine had they let go of Westbrook and kept Harden/Durant/Ibaka (wouldn't have Adams because that pick came in the Houston Harden trade). That team could really compete. Thunder have the 2nd highest payroll in the NBA...behind the reigning champs. Unreal.
