1989 Fleer Glossy set
#1

1989 Fleer Glossy set
Found a guy selling an opened set on Facebook marketplace for $25 so I couldn't pass it up. It was a complete set and overall the cards were in good condition, except for one.

The best card in the set - Ken Griffey Jr. This was the worst cut card out of all of them.

Why does this keep happening to me???

The guy probably opened it, hoping to grade the Griffey and when he saw it's condition he decided to simply resell the complete set. Hopefully the Randy Johnson and Bill Ripken cards were in nice shape.
Collecting John Stockton, Karl Malone, Ivan Rodriguez, Gary Carter & UF player rookie year cards.  Plus Jedd Gyorko rookie and prospect cards.

Or replaced the good Griffey with a lousy one and then sold the set.

The Bill Ripken in that set doesn't matter, its the corrected version. All of them from that set are exactly the same.

Honestly, I'm not sure the guy really knew what he had. This is why I prefer buying factory sealed boxes/sets but the price was right.

Surprisingly, the Billy Ripken books at $25!

Bought a 1987 Fleer Glossy set and when I opened it I say all the cards were badly miscut. So bad they are not even square-- sides cut at an angle.

Most of the cards from this set were cut the same way but it's only evident on the backs. Really weird!
