A game for the ages!

Lucky for you guys, Rodgers career is slowly coming to an end, so you won't have to put up with him much longer. The vikings and lions both have teams capable of beating the packers, so you may not even need to watch him in the playoffs!

I guess I think of myself as pretty impartial thanks to the fantasy football world. I like the Packers, but fantasy has given me reasons to cheer for many non-packers. Everyone will have their opinion on Rodgers. Is he a selfish, socialist, elitist, jerk? He's shown enough that one could argue yes. Can he do things on the field that other Quarterbacks can't? Yes. Has he dragged inept teams kicking and screaming to the playoffs year after year? Yes. Were those teams good enough to win a SB? Not since Woodson and Nick Collins were on the team. So favoritism doesn't buy him SBs like it does Brady. Even Rodgers doesn't like the rule that they made about landing on the QB. He made it clear in an interview. I agree defenses are set up for failure today, and I hate it. It sounds like there's as much hate amongst some for Rodgers, as I feel for Brady. So I can't fault you lol. Packers are going to get stomped this year, so enjoy it Smile
To be fair, none of this is directed at you personally, by the way, and I respect how you rise above the pettiness by Kerry and myself, LOL.

The Packers have actually had many players that I liked quite a bit over the years, even though it was tough watching the Lions compete against them ... Favre, Reggie White, Sterling Sharpe, Matthews, Charles Woodson, Ahman Green, KGB, Clay, etc.

One thing I would love to know, but am too lazy to look up, and then I'll (try to) leave it alone.

I would be curious to know the Packers' record in nationally televised games (i.e. Sunday Night, Monday Night and Thursday Night) in the "State Farm" era, where they do those split-screen commercials on one side and a close-up of Rodgers on the other.

Like, is there a sponsor tie-in where the referees are instructed to give him a few extra favors (i.e the Sherman call) during the State Farm games?

Reason I ask, the week before against Detroit, when it was not a national game, I don't recall seeing any of the State Farm commercial tie-ins, though I could be wrong.

Even the refs couldn't justify trying to make up for Crosby's kicking maladies that day.

I didn't take it personally at all, even though you are a Lions fan :p lol. I certainly hope you're wrong about that, as it completely destroys any credibility in the league, but I can neither prove or disprove it.

As a Minnesota fan I am used to disappointing seasons but the Vikes have had their fair share. Yet, all their wins and losses seem legitimate based on what I see.

My problem is that I believe the NFL wants certain teams to be successful based on tradition, fan base, or national attention of a player or two. I think we can all agree that Brady, Rodgers and JJ Watt are considered current ambassadors of the organization and will get special treatment on and off the field.

True, though I think only Watt actually deserves it. I know Rodgers and Brady quietly do things in their community, but Watt has rallied millions, both in people and dollars. He's a true class act.
