POWER UP-DATE: Anyone Have Green Lantern's Lantern?

POWER UP-DATE: Anyone Have Green Lantern's Lantern?
So I know this is a sports collectibles site, but I thought I'd try anyway.

Back in the 80s I bought a Kenner Green Lantern "Super Powers" figure when I was a kid, and he came with a lantern to hold in his left hand.

Over the years I lost the lantern but still have the figure.

Does anyone have a loose lantern that I could pair back up with my figure?

It was one of my favorite toys when I was a kid and I'd love to have it all back together.

I'd be willing to send $10 PayPal for it.

(Yes, I have looked online and can't find one.)

Thanks,

RJ

So an awesome member, Alex (trojans134) contacted me a few days ago to let me know he had a lantern to match my figure - and sent it to me free of charge!

This reunion of Hal Jordan and his lantern has been 30+ years in the making ...

Alex also sent me a minor league baseball card of a friend of mine ... I never even knew he had a card!

My sincere appreciation for both gestures.

This is my probably my favorite childhood toy that my grandma bought for me when I was 9.

Hey RJ,
Those superpowers toys were the best!
Here are mine!

I guess if I saved used tinfoil and used tea bags instead of old comic books and old baseball cards, the difference between a crazed hoarder and a savvy collector is in that inherent value.

Holy crap, you have Firestorm!!!

True story ... one summer when I was visiting my grandparents, my mom had a garage sale and sold ALL of my action figures in one tub.

For five bucks.

Super Powers, GI Joe, wrestlers ...

The only thing she saved were the Star Wars guys.

And I didn't even get the five bucks.

Wow, grandma made some other kid very happy! Smile
Yeah, firestorm is cool, buy hawkman's wings flap, and he's got a mace. Much cooler!

I was in Michigan with my grandparents that summer ... my mom was at home in Sacramento and was the one that had the garage sale.

Just clearing my grandparents' good name, LOL

I like that Firestorm's alter ego was actually two different people that melded together in a nuclear reactor meltdown - very unique!

I also had Green Arrow, Superman, Batman, Robin, Flash, Samurai and probably the Joker and Lex Luthor.

I had a disproportionate amount of good guys because I didn't want to waste my money on bad guys, LOL

I remember being impressed with Batman & Superman because their capes were cloth. I don't know why that stuck in my brain after all these years, but I guess I never saw that on action figures other than Mego (which to me were dolls, not action figures Smile )
