Trip to Target

Trip to Target
Normally, I don't have much success with packs from Target and/or Wal-Mart but this time was different.

Pulled the 2017 Topps SP Carlos Correa of him celebrating with his teammates. Although it's not serial numbered, I've only found 3 listings on eBay, all Buy It Now for around $100.00.

This is by far the best card I've pulled from a retail pack!

Wish Topps would give print runs on SP cards or serial number them so they're easier to identify. The only reason I knew this was a unique card was the fact it was mixed in with all the inserts/parallels.

If you look at completed sales these have come down a bit. I agree that they should serial number or give you a different logo or something. However i believe the fun is in the chase.

Actually there is a easy way to tell he variations apart.

On the back of the cards on the bottom there is a code #. If the number ends in 1730 it is a base card, if it ends in 1786 it is a variation.

I didn't know that and it certainly makes it much easier. Thanks for the tip!

I added a scan of the back of the card and you are right. I'm looking for variations this way now. Forget the picture, or alternate jersey, or if a players pointing to the sky, in the on deck circle, sitting on the top step of the dugout, etc.

You get the picture!

Well it sold for $31. Let the free markets determine value! Adam Smith would be proud!

RE: Trip to Target
I like it when Topps or whoever makes cards like this because that means I still have a shot at pulling something, even if there are pack feelers. Congrats on the nice hit.
