I was wondering if there is any real way to tell if this card is a normal 24kt Gold which was signed or if it is indeed a 1992 Action Packed 24K Gold #13GAU B.Sanders AU/1000? It's hard to find examples of the card and it looked like the #13GAU redemption card still was numbered #13G at least from the one image I could find...

A search on worthpoint.com, I saw several other auctions when I entered '1992 Action Packed Barry Sanders', they look the same, so it's hard to say definitively if it is, but the signing style is the same. In 1992, adding certificates of authenticity, or printing the backs differently, not all the card companies were doing it.

I've come across some "24k gold" cards in other sports, and those cards are completely gold-plated. I don't know if that helps.

In football, there was the 1992 Action Pack Mint parallel, the cards were totally covered in 24K leaf gold. Also the same treatment for 1992 Action Packed Update. There is supposed to be a 1993 version but few if any singles have ever shown up. There is a Barry Sanders 24K Gold leaf all covered promo also, but not an autographed version.

Well I know it's at least a "24kt Gold" as they have the "G" following the number on the back. I saw a few PSA/DNA graded cards listed as the #13GAU /1000 and PSA has the card catalogued as #13G so I'm guessing theses no way to really tell if its truly the limited /1000 card but normally the players sign these cards all at once so the autos "normally" are similar and the auto on this card and other examples I found are nearly identical with respect to location on card and degree of slant.
