Mail day - HOF 3B style

Mail day - HOF 3B style
As some of you may know my main project right now is to obtain one card of every MLB HOFer. Whenever possible I try to get a card from when they were playing, or managing, etc.. When not possible I simply try to get there earliest known card. T206 Jimmy Collins arrived today giving me one card from every current HOF third baseman. Some need to be upgraded/replaced with better cards, preferably a rookie card eventually, and I still need to send in a few to be graded, including the Collins, but here is what I currently have.

Nice collection. IMHO, I wouldn't worry too much about upgrading as the "worn look" gives them a bit of character.

I collect 1969 Mets memorabilia and 1960 Topps baseball, nothing else.

With regard to upgrading I am mostly talking about getting an older or hopefully rookie card of the player. Really need to get a Mathews card that shows him in a Braves uniform.

I had the 1968 Mathews when I started this project and have just never gotten around to replacing it, I think I'm about to though. I am currently at 271 of 310 HOF'ers. I need 9 players from the 1933
Goudey set, 3 more T206's, 17 pre-1900, and 10 other miscellaneous issue cards.

The only jimmy Collins I like better than the t206 is the 1904 fan craze. That's a real nice group you've got there.

Very cool my man. In the past year or so I've gotten to where I really dig the vintage. I continue knocking stuff off my spreadsheets (which includes some vintage stuff) but when I get going on a vintage set lately, I finish it pretty quickly ha.

I've done '54 Topps, '56 Topps, and now working on '59 Topps the heaviest currently. I'm doing all the '50s Topps sets, and then HOF RC's, which some fall in the vintage category.
