So I went to my local LCS looking for Bowman Chrome seeing that it was just released and I wanted to get my hands on a new product to look at. I was going to go with two jumbo boxes but decided to open a regular hobby and a jumbo just to compare the difference. Unless I’m missing something nothing significantly came from my break. Nothing eye popping about the product but if you are into prospecting I would say this still remains the marquee product to do that with. (On a side note; anyone remember Topps Marquee, what ever happened to it? Good product IMO.) This product does take the award for the worst idea IMO for an insert set. My wife was opening some packs and thought she had a card not cut correctly, nope; she pulled one of the 2015 Bowman Chrome Prospect Profiles Minis. Once again IMO, this is a worst idea than the bubble gum stained backs in Heritage. Just the way they cut it to make it into a mini just doesn’t make any sense to me. Creativity was lacking with whoever thought of this one. So I’ve scanned the hits from the regular hobby and jumbo hobby so you all can see the comparison. Everything as usual should be marked for trade. I’m only putting together the base sets but while there is no pricing priority will go to my set building needs. Oh, and from my little experiment I would say that if you are a serious collector of Bowman Chrome, go with the Jumbo boxes.

Not too bad Rob. Simon and I Were actually discussing Topps Marquee a while back. It seems they did away with that to make room for Museum Collection, apparently using the same format (although I did not see the similarities). I loved Marquee and was displeased to see it go.

One of the ugliest sets I have ever seen.

Then again I am kinda picky, you guys know I only do autos.

Not to mention I absolutely HATE Ginter, so I already dont like minis.

Some of the Bowman colored mini autos look sharp.....these on the other hand, do not.

Did you see though with the Bowman Chrome what I'm referring too? They didn't make a mini card they sliced the sides off. Look at the scans above again. This is real hideous.

They couldn't find a better picture for Julio Urias? That picture they used proves how much they care about minis. They need to do away with them all together.

I looked into this and didn't realize it was because of 3 surgeries as a youth to remove a benign mass. I thought they were using a picture of him with a black eye till I read up on it. Kind of gets fascinating. It doesn't effect his sight but from what I understand is he's going to go through another surgery for cosmetic purposes.

Really now? That is pretty interesting and I sure as hell didn't know about that.
