So, now that the calm is here and everybody is done busting boxes of series 2 Upper Deck, I am now going to started collecting series 2 base and the Young Guns.

Here's me question. #1 Why are there cards #501-530?? Normally series 2 is #251-450 is base and then #451-500 are the Young Guns. Now there is an Update #501-530 that has 10 Young Guns cards? Why did Upper Deck do this? What was the point.

Question #2. When going to add them in my organize, is shows that there are 2 cards for every number card from #501-530. A buyback version of the Heroes and then some regular base cards to go with the Young Guns. Are the Heroes autograph buybacks part of the set? and then Upper Deck decided to release more base and Young Guns with the same card numbers 501, 502, 503, ect.??

Sorry if this is confusing, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

UD updates 501-530 can be found in 2014-15 SP Authentic as inserts.

As for your heroes card, it's from an insert set from UD 1 and 2. Those cards are buybacks from 1990-91 Upper Deck wich are given a 25th anniversary stamp and hand numbered /25.

It helps, but I hate what is happening with the hobby. There are 2 different cards for the number 501-530, which is dumb. I can buy a box of Upper Deck cards, and get all sorts of junk like MVP cards. If I want to get some Upper Deck cards, I need to buy a SP Authentic box? WTF!!!!!!

Sorry for the rant. I guess I'm just an old school collector who wants to buy a box of Upper Deck, get almost the entire set along with some Upper Deck inserts and your Game Jersey cards with some Young Guns.

I hear ya, just when I thought I had the set completed they go and add another 30 cards?! They did it back in 12-13 UD also so now Im on the hunt for them as well, I guess the hobby really is about the all mighty dollar these days, not just about building a set and hunting for the elusive white whale!

Cards are numbered 251-300, are found in SP Authentic for 2012-13. They did it that way in 2012-13 because there was no series 2 because of the lockout. UD did it in 2014-15 -- the 30 card update-- I think because they had missed the Andrew Hammond in Series 1 and 2 for a young guns card.

I understand not just being able to buy the one box, make the set and be done with it. But... I like that some players will get a chance to have a young gun card even if it comes from another product. They can't really go out and release 'series 3'

But 2 of the Young Guns in the Update had one in series 1 or 2 Duclair and Clenndeing so they are not even RC.

I don't even try to build a complete set of anything anymore. Upper Deck is killing the hobby.
