Mail in Philadelphia

Mail in Philadelphia
I just saw this news story about a mailman in Philadelphia who hasn't been delivering the mail, and has just been throwing it in garbage bags. I wonder how many of the pieces of mail contain cards that were either involved in trades or bought online.

Shame anybody would do this. I have had no problems with anything coming or going my way. Sheese....only 6 months and a fine maximum, no wonder nobody gives a damn anymore.....

Hey Joe, i forgot to ell you about that missing Babe Ruth cut auto I sent for your birthday... So that's why you never got it!! Smile

Seriously, glad you were unaffected, but I'm really angry that the punishment isn't greater. My business depends on getting mail successfully delivered to my office. When that briefly became a problem in the past, it really F'ed me up!

I guess if I saved used tinfoil and used tea bags instead of old comic books and old baseball cards, the difference between a crazed hoarder and a savvy collector is in that inherent value.

I agree that the punishment seems more like a slap on the wrist instead of something more appropriate. Only thing I can think is that he must've kept all the mail and never opened any of it, so that it can now be redelivered. Aside from just cards, I wonder how many people got screwed with late fees for bills they never received the first time, or how many checks were sent in the mail and never received.

RE: Mail in Philadelphia
That does really seem to be a very light sentence. At least the mail will be able to go to the intended addresses now.
