Thought I would share my first project ever. SCANS of my progress (UPDATED 6/11/15)

Thought I would share my first project ever. SCANS of my progress (UPDATED 6/11/15)
When I check out the forums on occasion one of the things I enjoy is seeing collectors putting together certain projects that represent a certain theme to their collections, it started to make me think of starting my own. I figured since the biggest rage in collecting is autograph cards, so what better project to start than acquiring the FIRST pack inserted chaseauto of all 27 players that I collect. I thought at first to focus on the first chase auto's that are MLB licensed, like the '90 Upper Deck Reggie Jackson or the '91 Donruss Elite Sandberg. But I figured I would do my homework and try to find the first true pack inserted auto whether it's even MLB licensed or not. Currently I'm 1/3 of the way there with 10 first autos out of 27 players that I PC.

UPDATE (6/11/15): I haven't been searching that hard for new additions to my project since I first worked on this over a year and a half ago but I just recently kind of stumbled on a new one: the first Carlton Fisk

So here's my progress so far:

(sorry my scanner sucks and most of my cases are scratched, so the cards are in much better shape than they seem)

1985 Topps Rose #AU1 Pete Rose/Card number 1 autographed (This set was a special collector set issued by Topps the year Pete became all-time hit king, my dad had bought it when I was 4 thinking one day I could use it to start my own collection like him and I've been off and running ever since.)

I'm pretty sure they're not for FT, given that it's a project of the players in his PC. Call it a hunch.

Very impressive! Keep up the search. I can't wait to see the McGuire /Peter Max card! Sounds interesting!

I guess if I saved used tinfoil and used tea bags instead of old comic books and old baseball cards, the difference between a crazed hoarder and a savvy collector is in that inherent value.
