Looking in the guide some more I noticed that the 1993 Derek Jeter Topps Micro card is not a RC.

I find that confusing since the before mentioned Chipper card is now a RC. Seems like the whole RC thing is really up in the wind anymore and sucks for a RC collector like me.

I think most people consider any first card issued of a player as a rookie card.

Meaning anything from 93 is a Jeter rookie card, including all parallels.

The RC designation should not arbitrarily change through the years in my opinion. If it was or was not a RC when issued it should or should not be a RC now.
It does no good to get on the right track if you are headed in the wrong direction.
