1996 Pinnacle Laserview Inscriptions Erik Kramer.........WHY????
Ive looked up the Laserview Inscriptions set on that auction site, and I see the Erik Kramer going for OVER $300, $400 and $500. WHY????

I bought mine about 10 years ago for like $10, why is there a frenzy on this card all of a sudden??

What is the deal? There is a print run of 3150!!!

Possibility of someone buying as many as they can at a cheap price and then attempting to drive the price up on resale. Seen someone on Blow Out Forums posting ALOT about buying this card over a 4 year span.

Odd.Anyone else have any answers or theories?

There's a STATED print run of 3150. The cards are hand numbered which means they'd have done that BEFORE a player signed them. My guess is that Kramer only signed a few and then became disinterested ... or injured... or they were lost, etc. Whatever the reason from what I've read they're very rare. I'd want to know the back story before buying one if I were in the market though. Could be a deal where it's only "rare" because they're all in a warehouse somewhere. Reminds me of the Men of Destiny phone cards.... SUPER rare... until they weren't.

I'm not sure that they are all that rare. It could've been the case that he didn't sign all of them, but he definitely signed quite a few. Considering the active auctions show pictures with hundreds of them stacked up, I would bet that someone started hording them and artificially inflated the price in the process. Now they can slowly sell off a few at a time, knowing that if someone wants one they will have to pay the exorbitant price. In the mean time if any more come up for auction from a different seller, they can just bid up the price.

He signed all 3150 of them Several people are hoarding them and bidding them up. Its been going on for about 6 years. Wish people wouldnt talk about this. Allows people like me to find great acrds on the cheap.

That's such high production card to hoard. I can see hoarding cards limited to 10 or 25 to inflate values, but 3150 is kinda weird.

What's the point of buying so many of one card? To drive up the value? Seems like a waste of time and money to me.
Unique Cards:
Dolphins - 6000+
Marino - 2140
Zach Thomas - 869
Jason Taylor - 749
Lamar Miller - 341

Well thats exactly whats hes doing.
He attempts to low ball collectors on trade forums (his handle is JDiamond) by stating he needs them to complete sets and they are only worth $10 in Beckett etc etc and has been hoarding as many as he can find.

He now lists them on eBay for $500+ PER CARD!!!
He started attempting to sell them at $1500 A CARD!!
Yes, its crazy, but its whats happening.

He is attempting to corner the market on a card with a 3150 print run and sell them for 100 times their actual value.
