bought a couple of mantle chase boxes

bought a couple of mantle chase boxes
Bought two boxes of the card chase for mantle, 22 packs in total per box. one vintage pack, one graded card and two 50's or 60's cards per box..

Couldn't resist the itch in my fingers to buy these "lottery tickets" just to have something to break open and maybe, just maybe hit a nice pack or card aswell

the two boxes together contained:

1 pack - 1975 Topps mini (in "vintage" bag)
1 pack - 1979 Topps (in "vintage" bag)
2 packs - 1981 Fleer
2 packs - 1981 Topps scratch off
2 packs - 1984 Topps
2 packs - 1986 Topps
1 pack - 1986 Topps super glossy
1 pack - 1987 Topps coins
2 packs - 1988 Topps (69 cent cello packs)
4 packs - 1988 Topps Big
2 packs - 1988 Donruss
2 packs - 1989 Topps
2 packs - 1989 Donruss
4 packs - 1989 Topps yearbook stickers
1 pack - 1990 Topps coins
1 pack - 1990 Topps double headers
2 packs - 1990 Fleer
2 packs - 1990 Bowman
2 packs - 1990 Score
2 packs - 1991 Score
1 pack - 1992 Topps
2 packs - 1993 Topps
2 packs - 1994 Topps
1 pack - 2007 Topps

Some nice packs there actually, and a couple of packs with potential nice hits too..

The vintage ungraded cards were:
Topps 1959 Hank Aguirre
Topps 1959 Herb Moford
Topps 1959 Bob Buhl
Topps 1962 Mickey Mantle ( Smile )

Pretty nice, never had a Mantle before, so that was cool

And the graded cards were:
(Actually it was only two of these, the guy I bought the boxes from included a graded card for me, but I can't for the life of me remember which one it was...Really nice of him though!)

1961 Topps #29 Don Nottebart ( PSA 5 .... )
1994 Ted Williams Derek Jeter ( GMA 7.5 .... )
1999 Upper Deck MVP #157 Pat Burrell ( Beckett 9 ... )

All in all I'm fairly pleased so far...
It was pretty expensive to buy these boxes since I live in Sweden and had to pay a pretty hefty customs and tax fee, plus shipping, but it was fun, and I might try something similar again..

I've busted the 90's packs, not much of interest there... Going to open the rest of them tomorrow when I come home from the night shift.. I'll post here if I get something nice Smile

Pics attached are of the vintage cards, packs, and the graded ones.

I never knew anyone that ever hit ANYTHING of value from those boxes! Cool! Congrats!

I guess if I saved used tinfoil and used tea bags instead of old comic books and old baseball cards, the difference between a crazed hoarder and a savvy collector is in that inherent value.

Those vintage packs will be fun to break! I still kinda like the Topps Big Cards.

if you get a high grade hit from the 1975 or 1979 that would be amazing!

Opened all the packs today... nothing super amazing, all commons in the 75 pack, same in the 79 pack..
Most cards off center, one or two looked good.

Still alot of fun and I will probably try a couple more of these soon!
